F. came early for piano lessons.
A. went with the sitter. They got her hair cut and her nails done. Fun!
R. took T. swimming.
I got my walks.
I keep iterating on this idea about how there has been a major sea change in how much of a market there is for devices / cell phones / etc. I feel like I should have noticed this sooner. Gaming consoles are chronically impossible to get (attributed that to pandemic related disruption). Now auto makers are idling. Since I was very small, chips kept getting smaller / cheaper / faster / better — waiting to buy stuff was always great. This is the only time that was not great. There is basically a duopoly on making the interesting stuff (3 if you count Intel, which I do not), and they carefully manage their supply because building more fabs is very expensive and very time consuming, and oversupplying the market just means the price comes down.
This is the first indication I have seen of anything that might lead to actual inflation, but people are acting like it is a temporary supply chain issue. I don’t think there’s anything very temporary about it. Building a bleeding edge fab is _hard_ and _expensive_ and _time consuming_.
