Very shocking, really.

Fortunately, we charged the i4 to 90% last night, because we drove A. to Fusion, then out to Florence, and then back to Fusion and then home, and we got all the way down to 10% and honestly the software was kinda freaking out there for a bit, completely unwilling to route me all the way home but insisting on routing to chargers. *sigh* We just drove home. It was fine.

This is what I get for driving that fast on the freeway tho. Altho by driving fast, we had time to stop at Veracruz and pick up lunch, and we also were only a little late picking A. up.

I did not walk with M., altho I walked after dark by myself while chatting with my sister. Sounds like she had a nice time at a tiny amusement park in PA that was doing something very like a County Fair.

The house is looking great, and a bunch of the design work is finally getting wrapped up, which is delightful. While we were waiting for the architect, I asked the HVAC guy if I could have copper spiral duct in the bar, since there’s some pretty conspicuous ducting there. I declined a bunch of the proposed millwork which did a not awesome job concealing the ductwork. HVAC wizard says I probably can, and had zero concerns about any weird galvanic whatever, which, obviously, when the architect showed up, he asked about. I found people online who did copper spiral exposed ducts and they look amazing. I figure it’ll move that from, why is that weird cabinetry / bump out on the wall to Is That Copper? Cool! Which is way less obnoxious as a conversation. We’ll be making the ones in the kitchens stainless steel, since there’s already a lot of stainless steel planned there.

During the walkaround, R. managed to convince people at least temporarily to use a particular location in the garage on the wall for the Zombie Fan. Fingers crossed. I think we’re supposed to get an answer on our variance tomorrow. Extra fingers crossed.

They offered to get rid of one of the steps down into our suite (the one into R.’s bedroom) either by adjusting the header and redoing some framing, or by running the floor straight out and reducing the height. R. apparently has been paying attention to the floors and steps he deals with all the time while out at venues, and realized that he’s really not at any risk (my sister would be, but she shouldn’t be in that area unsupervised anyway).

I had a delightful long phone call with A.

I also had a delightful brief phone call with my cousin regarding our future travel together.
