Saturday: Legoland NY
Sep. 25th, 2021 11:00 pmToday, we got up and had breakfast at Bricks (included with the suite). Then we walked over to the park, went through security and had our tickets scanned with no issues. We put the kids on the carousel, and the spinning cups, and the Ninjago shooter ride (I could not figure out how to do it, maybe next time!), and the Gravity Force ride, and the Dragon roller coaster — which has a really cute dark ride beginning with a surprising number of lego rats — and the drop ride, which you have to pull on a rope to ascend. We had lunch in the Castle theme area. We got ice cream. A.’s cousins played on the City playground. We did the Splash Battle, and the Rogue Riders. And we walked back up through Miniland and did the Professor Brick dark ride, which was not open when we went in. I’ve probably forgotten something. The smash burgers at the Royal Feast are really good.
We had dinner at Bricks. S. and I split hummus, pita, tapenade and a big salad with nuts — she had the cheese. Niece and nephew totally ignored their mac n cheese in favor of playing in the castle; A. ate her cheeseburger and fries.
They watched Lego Batman, and called it quits _much_ earlier than last night. I had a long convo with S., during which I learned all kinds of things, including a couple of genuinely surprising insights into my BIL.
