We don’t celebrate Xtian Easter, however, it IS a candy holiday. Because R. goes to the store, we have no chocolate bunnies this year, but there was a lot of other candy. Also, A.’s friend F. came over early to leave eggs on the lawn. I knew, because her mother M. made sure it was okay the night before, but I told no one, leaving the surprise fully intact. R. saw them and said, “There are eggs on the lawn.” I explained, and A. put on a coat and shoes and went out for an impromptu brief but glorious egg hunt. I’m thinking this is worth repeating in future years.
I went and found a Lego easter egg kit, a pink gift bag, a couple paper flower bouquets. I packaged all that up, then took the green wooden easter basket I had sent out with A. to collect eggs, and the empty plastic eggs, reloaded with our easter candy, and we drove it over to M. and F.’s house. F. and her brother H. are super excited about the lego.
Also, I am highly amused that this year at least, my default behavior when in need of a gift on short notice, there is always unopened small lego to resort to, and people are generally okay with that!
After midnight, we will attempt to sign up for a vaccine; R. is eligible on age and I am eligible on 1+ medical condition (I am obese).
