Monday at Epcot
Feb. 18th, 2019 11:00 pmIt was even harder getting A. up today. She is tired and has a horrible cold. I canceled Teppan Edo reservation and they waived the fee. MIL was bummed because she was looking forward to the salmon. Oh well! I wasn’t sure we’d make it into Epcot at all, and we didn’t get to the Mission Space FP but we did get there for Soarin’. We got the Ralph and Vanellope meet and greet in the Figment exit shop. We hung out in the lounge. We got the Figment annual pass holder magnet. I bought a DVC cap. We ate lunch at Sunshine Seasons after Soarin. I bought a few pins. We got A. to Ivy Trellis early, and MIL got a few souvenirs at Grand Floridian. She watched A. get her hair done fancy while I had a drink at Mizner’s. M. from Nashua was there!
1 ounce whisky (Florida Palm or something like that)
1/2 ounce st germain’s
1/2 ounce grand mariner
Champagne or Prosecco to top
Ice
Wedge of orange
Very tasty! I might skip the bubbly and add some bitters. I’ll fiddle with it. Maybe swap the grand marnier for china china
We took the monorail back because wasn’t thinking and it was right there. We walked from TTC (we had walked to TTC in the morning) to the bungalow, and K. arrived about 90 seconds later, from Kids Nite Out.
T. showed up and they all went to Chef Mickey’s.
C. went to get dinner at Captain Cook’s and then went home.
R. returned from biking and took a shower.
We headed out Enzo’s, accidentally gave them the wrong name (mine) when it was in R.’s. Got that squared away. The menu was more difficult than average. The mixte salad was PHENOMENAL. We really like white balsamic vinegar. The bread was safe. The olive oil for the bread was un-augmented and good. R. got a shrimp and squid ink pasta in tomato / tomato juice plain sauce that worked for him. The biscotti with the sweet after dinner alcohol was apparently good. My spaghetti with red sauce and zucchini had not nearly even remotely enough zucchini. What was there was tasty. Bummer. Staff was really amazing. Ambience was interesting. We will monitor the menu to decide whether it becomes less difficult in the future — would have been easier to order the steak but I really wanted vegetation. I was not hungry when I left, so it was fine.
We got back by 8:30! Hit the 4 hour minimum almost on the nose. I got us in bed by 8:45, but then the light show started so A. and I went out on the deck and watched it. Great view! Tons of fun. Playing a bit more games and then hope to be asleep before 10 p.m.
