I had leftover pizza from Demetriou’s for breakfast, along with cole slaw. I debated bringing some with me, but decided that the amount of time likely to elapse before eating it made that riskier than I was really interested in. I just had a second serving instead.

We picked up G., and had lunch at Millie’s, my second choice of the three he initially gave us for lunch options. Keke’s had the widest array of choices and it was good. Millie’s had a narrower list of kid menu choices, but turned out to be unbelievably awesome. I had my usual — 2 eggs over medium, dry wheat toast, home fries — and it was about as good as I’ve ever had that, other than at Etta’s (or, on good days, my own take on that breakfast). G.’s stuffed French toast (cream cheese and apricots) looked amazing and he said it was good too. A. raved over her chicken strips and her chips were good, altho not home made like the ones last night at Gecko’s. T. liked his grilled cheese.

We dropped G. off and headed to the airport, SRQ. It’s a really nice small airport, super easy to navigate, charging stations at the JetBlue gate, no line at TSA Pre check. We had a long wait because we were early, but that was fine. Funny to see the three bathrooms: Men’s, Women’s, and Pet / Service Animal. Complete with a putting green and mini fire hydrant for those who like to aim.

Flight was a pain — IFE was the old kind, and a lot of them were not working right. Someone in the row behind me had an airborne, severe peanut / tree nut allergy and so rows in front and behind and eventually the whole plane was asked not to consume peanuts / tree nuts. My lunch included granola bars, challah bread with peanut butter and a bag of mixed nuts. *sigh* Somewhat accidentally, I was comped both an Eat Up for T. (the cheese and crackers one) and a Jack Daniel’s to go with my ginger ale. They were going to charge me for both after the second, but they forgot and I forgot and when I remembered, they waved it off.

Driver was there. Baggage showed up promptly. We had clothes to put on for the cold. Traffic was more than I would expect, but it is New Year’s Eve Eve, so, anything can happen especially at the airport.

It’s nice to be back! Tomorrow, the tree will come down.
