The article isn't _specifically_ about expensive strollers. But the number of cheap strollers out there which face the pushee towards the pusher is, well, small to non-existent.
I, personally, am a little suspicious of efforts to show that a large trend towards reduced whatever could be connected to stroller directionality. I figure kids probably learn language a little later now because they have fewer siblings and thus fewer people near their own age to practice faulty language with. Like anything, language is something one sucks at teaching when one is a long way from having learned it. But that's just me.
That said, my regular readers know I bid on a number of eBay auctions (and finally won one) in an effort to get the Britax Vigour for a not completely unreasonable price. Because it has a seat that can face forward.
