Had Rasta Wings from Wing Dome last night. Lots of contractions, but, still no action. So much for the spicy food theory.

Off to the midwives for a non-stress test. I wish it weren't the middle of August and too darn hot.

We had a nice long chat about the hospital induction scenario, after I spent a few days looking into it and talking to friends who have been there. The midwives are fully on board with the idea that just because we can't be in the birth center after 42 weeks does not mean that the induction needs to be scheduled for 42 weeks on the dot. They described a little of the Group Health process in terms of whether I wind up with midwives or with an ob/gyn, and they are committed to helping me communicate clearly and effectively that I don't want a fast induction; I want one done right, so none of this crank up the pitocin and hope things work crap, start with the gels and stick with them for at least 24 hours until the cervix is ripe enough for this to work.

Obviously, I'm still hoping things happen today/tomorrow/Wednesday.
