Another quiet day indoors
Jan. 28th, 2026 11:00 pmWe were supposed to go to Mr. Chow Asian Bistro this evening, however, we moved the reservation to tomorrow instead. We had left tomorrow open for a possible trip to Anguilla or St Barts. We discussed those possibilities, but while willing to go to St Barts if I wanted to go to the shops (I didn’t, I just wanted to go to Anguilla even less), she didn’t want to go to either alone. She looked over the various snorkeling boat outings, but concluded that they were a lot of hours of commitment. She went to Kko beach (walkable) instead.
I’ve been rereading Jenny Schwartz and not eating much of anything but rehydrating.
We agreed to attempt Anse Marcel tomorrow.
Also, today, the water went out. There is a cistern, so I learned from M. (who had checked us in) how to turn off town water and turn on cistern water. It was very confusing, because I still was feeling quite unwell. I had to get a ton of stuff out of a closet in order to access the valves. Apparently there was a mains break in Hope Estate affecting all of Orient Bay. Ugh. The cistern water had sediment and who knows what else in it.
I got through the docusign process on the insurance paperwork, but can’t write a check. There’s a payment portal, but it’s not working for me.
Looks like the remaining bit of information from the You Closed Your Account fiasco is a meter number and other people are pursuing that since I can’t. Yay! Of course, on site feet of snow is a bit of an issue.
