walkitoutPrevious year’s birthday money came back with the following note:
“[name redacted] paid you $X, Last year’s birthday too. Smart to not use names when engaging in defamation.”
I am right on the fence. I mean, someone who controls that venmo is obviously reading my blog. I’m less certain it is the person I grew up next door to. That sounds more like the person I described as her husband / the father of someone, and who I referred to as engaging in what was clearly abuse. “really clear abuse of the second kid by their father / husband of my friend.”
On the other hand, I’m not accused of lying or slander or libel. I’m accused of defamation, which is not actually a crime and isn’t even a tort if it’s true and protected by freedom of expression. Which kind of concedes completely what the recording of the behavior in question would also confirm.
KK, if you are reading this, all I want to know is that it really is you, and not TB sending me the money and the messages. I’d feel terrible for hating on you if you are lying in a shallow grave.
But if you are reading this KK, I also sent you an email, and I’d like a reply, because there’s a lot more money you owe me and if you aren’t paying it back, I’m claiming it on my taxes as bad debt.
And then please go live your best life in joy and happiness, ideally not further reading this blog.
