Tuesday is not better
Feb. 18th, 2025 07:05 pmR. went out to Florence. I took A. to school. Around noon, I noticed that I was scratching my neck a bunch, so I got lunch into me, collected my chargers and a snack (forgot the water bottle this time) and took myself back to the ER. R. wound up picking A. up from school, because I wasn’t done by the time she needed to be picked up.
I got the same doc as last time (continuity of care FTW!) and she added a second scrip to the first one and told me to definitely take ibuprofen. So once I was home and had food in me (blueberry pancake with sourdough and an egg), I took two pills. Then we got A. her dinner, and R. went up to ride his bike and I went over to the treadmill because by now I was feeling antsy but otherwise not too bad. I did 20 minutes on 2 mph and very little incline. I’m reading Tanya Huff’s Valor’s Choice, which I think I may have read Back In the Day, and it’s absolutely perfect for where I’m at.
Yesterday, I started trying to find visuals to convey to the metal artist what I had in mind aesthetically, because “steampunk” was not getting it done. I was doing searches around “art nouveau” and steampunk, and people mentioned Victor Horta and as soon as I saw that I was like, yep, that’s exactly what I want. JB and I had been doing back and forth over the weekend and Monday, on a slide presentation and tour plan, so she sent that over with an email that included a mention of Victor Horta. There’s no way in hell this guy doesn’t know exactly who Horta was and what he did, and R. likes Horta’s work too, so I think we’re in good shape in terms of communication. Having seen this metal artists work, I know he does great work in that space.
So while the subject line says Tuesday is not better, it actually is, altho there was no virtual meeting today; the wind at the house took out the internet for a while. They were having sustained gusts at 40 mph.
JB, E and I talked through the pool room, too, after JB had a meeting with the Boswa folks. I think we’re in pretty good shape, altho I’m going to tinker a bit with the baseboard in the pool room before I commit.
