We got to Montreal around 6ish. We were running late because we left late and then had to turn around and go get R.’s passport. I had a persistent sense of doom the entire day. Lots of construction in I-89. No wait at all at the border.
We had dinner at Pub Mccarold. We had to sit outside, this time because A. is under 18. Rules I am learning about. The bathroom had wallpaper on the ceiling and it was hilarious. It had a bunch of animals dressed up like 19th century fancy people in portraits with frame and all. So weird. R. and I split the fish and chips (I ate the chips and a little fish; he had fish) and A. had wings (I ate some of her wings). This worked out pretty well all around. A. didn’t mind the spiciness altho she had some questions about when her lips would stop tingling.
A. and I both felt pretty awful, but once we were in and settled down, R. and I went down to the bar/restaurant and had a drink and we felt better, and once A. wasn’t in a van or listening to people chew she felt much better, too. But we didn’t get to bed until fairly late.
