Wednesday: ge combo has arrived

walkitoutWe haven’t done laundry for several days because our washer Made a Horrible Noise and was pretty resistant to R. taking it apart to try to fix it. We had already planned to buy the combo, because our laundry plan for the new house involves ventless and specifically this machine, and we wanted to be sure we didn’t absolutely loathe this. Also, you know, it’s a heat pump dryer and supposed the first Not to Suck.
And indeed, it does not suck! Altho we do have quite the laundry mountain (eastern type mountain, not western type mountain, so small compared to every laundry mountain you have ever seen, more like a laundry hillock than a true mountain) to get through.
I had a delightful phone call with J.
I had a delightful walk with M.
I was up way too late last night finishing Martha Wells’ _Network Effect_. Only two left and I am caught up.
Oh, and A.’s therapist called and she’s coughing a lot so we (the therapist and I) did a virtual session. It was really nice, I got to tell her a bunch of background on the kids’ educational experiences, and we talked a bit more about travel, and the possibility of R. and A. doing a session together and things like that. The therapist does individual and family therapy and while I had kind of envisioned this as individual for A., she’s pretty persistent about not having a goal and the three way conversation seems to work really well, so I think we’re evolving in a more family direction. Which is kind of hilarious but also really pleasant. I’m enjoying this.
Also, in the better living through shopping, bra edition, I ordered a Tomboy. I’m not particularly optimistic, but we’ll see how it goes. I’m betting the straps are set too widely apart and will persistently fall off my shoulders, based on the photos.
