Wednesday: walk, therapist, phone call

walkitoutI had a delightful phone call with J.
I had a nice walk with M.
A. had a therapy appointment and that went well.
I got email from A.’s history teacher. Apparently, there is a history essay she has not done and if she doesn’t do it, she may wind up failing the class. The teacher actually produced this statement: “At the time interim reports came out, I was still holding out hope she would do the essay, so I didn't send one out.” I don’t have the IEP language in my hand, but I’m reasonably certain that this is not ever supposed to happen, especially when in the same email there was this: “But the essay will cause a big hit to her grade, bringing her potentially into the F range, which is for sure not a representation of her abilities.” I don’t really care about her grades BUT we all don’t want her to have to repeat any of this shit.
Anyway. I deployed my usual drastic tactics and made sure that essay got done and turned in tonight because I do NOT like to see garbage like that.
