I failed to sleep in, because I’m now relatively adjusted to getting up in time to make A.’s lunch and sometimes breakfast and get her out the door in time to get to school. Which as a practical matter, is getting up a little before 7 am to get her out the door by 7:30 am. So at 8, I’ve been walking with M., because it has been in the 90s, both temp and humidity.

Yesterday, we had a really massive storm, that took out power to about 3/4s of the town and delayed the dismissal of the schools and _really_ delayed everyone’s safe return home. Our generator worked fine, until the events described in yesterday’s email, and by the time that was over, the street power for us was working again. However, for my walking power, she never got power back last night. She texted me this morning if I could walk at 8, but not in the neighborhood because of the downed lines and trees. I said come over for a visit at 8. We hung out and played Birzzle and she had a blondie and I had breakfast. I said if she needed to charge anything or whatever, she was welcome to do so. She came back a bit later with her laptop and we got that plugged in and charging. She went back home, and then the piano instructor showed up. I also fed A. breakfast.

After piano lessons, T. and I went over to martial arts where he successfully did his belt test to become a green belt. We had lunch at Vic’s (I had second breakfast.) It also appears, however, that he _forgot_ his green belt in the cubbies. Unclear — definitely, we cannot find it around the house. We were a little late getting to martial arts — just a minute or two — because of a combination of it’s hard to park in the middle of the day in Hudson, vs. at 8ish on a Saturday morning. And also because of navigating shit down in the middle of the road.

R. got a blower out and cleared out the driveway — nothing really huge there, but lots of small stuff. I watched Friday’s Alex Wagner. Outages in town around down below 20% now. Chat at martial arts suggests a bigger impact than I had initially realized — several people there still didn’t have grid power back and were running generators. Sterling apparently had some kind of fair that they didn’t cancel and the rain and wind was miserable for everyone who made the mistake of going and then had to leave in a hurry.

I was a little surprised today to realize just how out of it I was yesterday. And then I thought, oh, wait, I _took a nap_ for a couple hours in the middle of it and had a horrible metallic taste in my mouth. I had a massive migraine, apparently, but one that did not involve an actual headache. All that I Am Hot and Cranky and Not Cooling Down Before Trying to Debug AC / Generator can be laid directly at the door of post-ictal fog. *sigh*

A little googling suggests that the is it a migraine or is it a partial focal seizure line is trending towards partial focal seizure AND falling atmospheric pressure is a known seizure trigger AND high humidity is a known seizure trigger AND there’s a whole postictal fever thing. While I focused on Oh Man Why Can’t I Enjoy This Day, if I shifted the focus to, Wow I Had a Major Neurological Event And No One Noticed, maybe I could get some more sympathy. And it would be more accurate, honestly.
