Monday: half day, walks

While walking with M., A. called to say she wanted a ride home, because it was a half day, or at the very least someone to walk her home. I was like, I’ll call your dad. So he went and got her.
I also did the 3 mile loop by myself.
We have been having a problem with no dial tone on the land line (Verizon FIOS thing, not PSTN, so _lots_ of ways for it to go wrong but it usually does not), no calls coming in and can’t call out. We mostly use the cell, so not a big deal but also you know, it’s part of our service package so it really ought to work and it’s marginally better call quality while in the house. I do actually use it for several hours a week, what with one regular call and another. We did the online troubleshooting and it did not fix it so tomorrow is the scheduled tech visit. However, today I decided to do one last check to see if it had gotten better so we wouldn’t have to pay the tech if they came out and it was all fine. And lo, the dial tone has finally returned. Fortunately, I had the text back and forth with Verizon and I typed FIXED and it closed the ticket for me. So, yay.
I’ve done a bunch of cooking yesterday (marmalade, pinto bean brownies, waffles) and today (hamburger buns), in addition to the usual make sure everyone gets their meals and snacks. Today, I somehow forgot to eat lunch. I was kind of hungry around 2:30, and I saw that A. had not eaten her Nature’s Bakery raspberry fig bar (R. bought the wrong box of snacks), checked the ingredients and ate it. Tasty! The chocolate ones are better, but these were fine. Then I got to thinking and realized, hey, I haven’t had lunch. So I had pulled pork on one of the buns for lunch. And I made popcorn for A., but I made extra and had some myself. I had been thinking about more pinto bean brownie with oat planet ice cream, but by the time I got through all the other, I had lost interest. Yay?
