I did Genie and got us into Cosmic Rewind’s virtual queue. I got a Ratatouille LL that I never used because we got tired. We _did_ get to Test Track, and A. designed a car and it was correctly displayed during the ride (which was freezing) which she has failed to accomplish repeatedly over the last few years. Yay! She got 201 design points, and did well.
We did Nemo, saw manatees in the aquarium, look at more stuff in the aquarium. We hung out at the DVC lounge (had to waitlist). We did Figment and Spaceship Earth. We got tired, tho and headed back to the hotel to rest, since we were coming back for a second shot at it later. Cosmic Rewind was _amazing_. Lunch was at Connections Eatery.
Dinner was at Shula’s. We got a bottle of some Marques de Caceres Gran Riserva, which was a compromise since my sister does not like pinot and I don’t like most cabs. It was fine, but so is red label. One of my nieces was a little ridiculous wanting her own side of mac & cheese so I put my foot down and said order one now, and another if you want more. They didn’t need more. I have taken these people to enough steakhouses you would think they would have grasped the fundamentals by now. I was feeling mildly pissy, and it wasn’t too far out of the way, so I made the bill come out to an even grand.
Last year, we were at Paradiso, and it was an absolutely clusterfuck. Service and food were fine but the noise level was _insane_ and while everyone else responded by going nose down into their phones, my sister persisted in talking and pretending she could hear people, _which she could not do_. We had a very long discussion about it after that went absolutely nowhere useful, and massively informed the planning for this trip AND caused me to really sort of wish that something caused this trip to be canceled. We did do the trip, but fortunately my planning successfully prevented a repeat of that disaster.
