A. and I had a delightful day of very little. We had leftovers for lunch. We went to Wicked for dinner. On our previous trip, our server at Wicked noticed A.’s e-ink e-reader and asked about it, which inevitably (I was drinking a really good manhattan and looking forward to an excellent pizza with vegan mozz on it) led to a discussion of whether they are “worth it”. I waxed in some detail. The server was eager to hear details.

Anyway. So, we had J. as our server again, and when I saw him, and we recognized each other, I immediately asked if he got one, and he said his girlfriend got him one as an early birthday present and he loves it and has already been to the library and found out how to get books on it. He is extremely happy! I love getting updates. Also! We mentioned we did an escape room, and he asked about that and — hey, drinking a really good manhattan again! — I waxed in some detail and he was eager and I said, bring your girlfriend and one or two other friends because 2 can be a little exhausting also bring water and dress lightly it can get warm in there.

Now I really want to go back in January and hear out that all went.

Meanwhile, back at home, T. drove himself to martial arts and Vic’s and did a victory lap on having received his driver’s license. He also took himself out to dinner at Casta Diva where he has not been in a while. He is, literally, and consciously, living his best life. I am so happy for him! R. meanwhile went to go see a show at Brighton Music Hall. I gotta say, if this is what teen years are like, I’m so pleased _and also_ would like to revisit this with all the people who told me how awful they were going to be and how what I was dealing with when the kids were younger was nothing compared to teen years and early 20s and so forth because first off, super invalidating at the time and second, total, unmitigated bullshit. But you know, maybe it gets worse. *shrug*.

A. and I went swimming and I had a nice chat with someone in the pool. Also, I’m rereading the Eclipse Bay trilogy.
