Construction site visit
Feb. 10th, 2026 11:00 pmI drove out to Florence to visit the house. Keiter has hired someone above N., at a sort of general construction superintendent level. He sat in on the meeting and did some of the walkaround with us. JB seems to think well of him, and he has the same vibe as SK and D so I expect he’ll fit in very smoothly. I get an unholy amount of entertainment out of watching new folks try to get a read on me. He was definitely started to see me pull out the tablet and pull up CC’s renderings of the pool room finishes when we were discussing them but realized they weren’t in Procore. He also went back for a second blondie. So. I expect we’re off to a good start.
R. gave an inaccurate answer on which pocket doors needed privacy locks. When he mentioned that in passing later in the day, I sent email saying, no, what’s in the door schedule is correct. Easy enough to fix; JB has already ordered more.
The Brandon Basic’s smart towel warmer is no longer available, so I had to find a replacement (HeatGene). Floor sub suggested that we install Coral Brush at the interior of door 10, which is brilliant — way smarter than having a mat on top of carpet.
The LS suite entry door has a lot of glass and it’s reed glass which is 100% not workable for any of us (even E. had trouble with it). I discussed it with my sister, and we’ll make it like all the other doors and she wants a brass plaque on it, so I had fun picking that out (not ordered yet! Just found the right style on etsy).
