Today, I got A. a chocolate croissant from the bakery, and then R., Priestess and I headed over to Utopia Diner for breakfast. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy.

Then we took the subway (conveniently located near Utopia) to Moma to look at the Magrittes they had on display, the Mondrians, and a furniture exhibit from South America. Super cool! Also, we saw the Jacob Lawrence Migration series. Really good. We also saw Starry Night, and a couple impressionist waterscape / landscapes that were very cool when viewed from a distance so I have converted another person so, No Much Further Back.

We took some photos for a traveler with the ball in the background for someone on his bike. And I took selfies for us there. Then we took the subway back, and stopped in at Design Within Reach. I have photos and pictures of the items of interest (a recliner, a stool). Their Eames chair is realllllly comfy. But it is very much a lounge chair. I prefer the recliner I sat in, because it has a better mix of uses. Altho I could be convinced to get all of the above.

I’ve got reservations for late brunch at Serafina, and we have tickets to Book of Mormon, so today is shaping up to be A Great Day.

ETA: Book of Mormon was completely unhinged. Super, super weird. All kinds of problems with the book, and apparently this is the New and Improved Book, so, wow, the original probably would have just comprehensively pissed me off. It was fun to see A. (niece). I never offered the extra seat to anyone and I’m sooooo glad I did not. It meant I could turn 3/4s sideways from Priestess, giving her some extra leg room on the non-aisle side, and have tons of space to stretch my legs out. Because we were on the left side of center, I was angled correctly for the stage.

Also, holy shit did I buy good tickets.

We tried to go to Utopia after, but they were closed (they let A. use the bathroom anyway, which is another example of NYC just being jaw-droppingly amazing in every way). We wound up in the back room at Amsterdam Ale house, the kitchen is open until 11:45 Sun-Thurs. I’m really gonna miss UWS, honestly. And NYC is so much more fun with the tap, no code no face to pay, you can tap repeatedly for multiple people, it’s just incredible how easy the subway is now.
