I got up, mostly packed up, and then went over to Utopia with Priestess. There was a little hiccup, where we went into Daily Provisions, but then she thought better of it. I was a little stressed because of time, however, Utopia was fast and awesome, so it all worked out great. A. had even eaten her pastry by the time we got back altho not proceeded further with her routine. But I got her out the door right at 11, which was checkout time. I got us checked out, and our bags checked with the hotel, then we headed over to the American Museum of Natural History, because the tiffany gallery at the historical society is not open on Mondays, and because that museum was closest. The gem exhibit there is FANTASTIC! 10/10 would recommend, extremely enjoyable. I got photos with Lucy. And some other photos. A lot of the museum is clearly old skool, aimed at field trip diorama stuff. I got bored after awhile and got pictures with Teddy, and waited for A. and R. to head out. She had a great time! She said it would be fine to wait until we got to the train station for food, but kinda flipped when we passed a food truck because she was so hungry. So we got her chicken tenders and fries at the food truck which is easily the fastest time between I’m Starving to I’m Happily Full I’ve ever gotten A. Under 10 minutes. Utterly weird and stupendously awesome.

We picked up our bags and got a taxi to Moynihan Hall. I got a miso chicken bowl at Chopt; it was yum. R. got sushi. Priestess got some kind of massive salad vat at Chopt — it seemed to be very good as well. I got A. and I cones at Davey’s (vegan rocky road for me; peppermint chip for her). We found the Metropolitan Lounge and hung out there for a bit, then got onto the Acela. We had the same crew as on the way out. Priestess wasn’t sure what she wanted to drink, and after some discussion, she asked for a glass of ice, OJ and a vodka. But she got it all made up into a Too Powerful screwdriver, so she asked for and got the OJ and kept topping it off until it was good. We finished off the raspberry bar and chocolate cake from By the Way Bakery. Yummy! We also had some of the Laderach chocolate.

I realized that I’d brought vitamins for A., and then completely forgot to give them to her all weekend. Ooops. So I gave her today’s, and took my half of the multi, washing it down with my old-fashioned, which after I did it felt super weird and probably wrong, but here we are.

R. drove home, and I had him stop at the Roche Bros, because I knew we didn’t have anything for Priestess in terms of breakfast protein or greens, and we were out of baby carrots for A.’s lunch. We got there about a half hour or so before closing, and were in and out in about ten minutes. I did not, alas, buy white milk, and it turns out T. finished that off while we were gone. Oh well! I guess water in the pancake for tomorrow and get it later in the day.

I’m running laundry, and A. has taken a shower, and we are unpacked. It was a fun weekend, and I would absolutely go back. Repeatedly. We now have a hotel we like, can comfortably navigate the subway, and have multiple restaurants we enjoyed eating it. I’m thinking maybe a rock show next time? But there are all kinds of things neither of us have done in NYC, and having finally had a really successful outing, I’d happily iterate.
