Thursday: meltdown, prom
May. 16th, 2024 10:52 pmApparently, yesterday A. had something of a meltdown, but I did not learn about it until today, when she had another meltdown. I was concerned, since she’d started the new medication last night, that maybe it was contributory, but knowing about the earlier one makes me less concerned. I think she was hungry, and I know she has been quite excited and anxious about prom.
We took her over to Seasons 52 and then sent R. out to track down some ibuprofen because she had a headache. There was a CVS nearby, but there was a Target even closer, so he just went there and picked up some other stuff too, apparently. We ordered drinks, the half chicken and the avocado toast. The chicken was safe for him, so I wound up not having any of it. R. got all the veg and half the chicken and half the rice (they split the plates for us!!). I had avocado toast, and I was going to order a salad, but we got the tuna tartare instead. It was all very yum. A. had two of the little desserts and they even have a vegan one! Which I loved! Good times. This might be the first time R. has been to a Seasons 52. T. hated it when we went in Pennsylvania, but A. and I love it.
There is a family bathroom there, so we got A. changed for the prom, and then drove to Woburn. We dropped her off, and went over to Lord Hobo where we had a flight. Since we’d had dinner, we did not order food, but instead dove into our devices. I read some more of the Samantha Bryant novel (first in the menopausal superheroes series). Also, we looked at a lot of entry locksets. The architect picked a really lovely Emtek Mortise, and it has no possibility of being a smart lock. We are leaning towards the Schlage commercial options, but the website kinda bites so we will go over to Concord tomorrow and stare at the paper catalog for a while.
Around 8:30, we started heading out (picked up beer, used the loo) and drove back to Absolute 47, but A. did not actually leave until closer to 9:20 or so, well after the thing was supposedly over. She apparently had a lot of fun. It was all 3 Massachusetts Fusion locations, so she met a bunch of people, which is nice.
We got home pretty late and I’m quite tired. But I am really glad that we figured out a way to make this work for her.
