In yesterday’s email, I was cc’ed on another attempt to sell our land in Northampton, this time by someone at our lawyer’s office who had been contacted by a different realtor at a different agency.

I mentioned this at cocktail zoom, and my friend H. followed up with a link:

https://www.justice.gov/usao-ma/pr/quincy-real-estate-broker-sentenced-real-estate-deposit-scam

I did a search on Victor A. Wild (actually several) and then went over to try to report it, and was directed through a series of pages over to the FBI FAQ and tip pages. So I went through that process and reported the two incidents, including information about the Acton PD report of the original incident (that’ll bring a little inter-agency excitement to the life of the young police officer who collected the information, because I didn’t have the report number and I put her email in the email box associated with the report information on the tip form).

AUSA Wild is part of the team at the US Attorney’s office in Boston, and has prosecuted a _ton_ of cases that are basically just like what someone was trying to do to our property. It will be interesting to learn whether there is interest in pursuing someone attempting this crime as they attempt it, or whether the interest only lies in after the crime has been completed. I honestly have no idea what the right answer is in terms of allocating enforcement resources. I can see arguments going both directions. I was a little startled at just how relentless this stuff is.

I walked with M.

Piano lessons for 2; T. is at work. He’s scheduled for 39.5 hours this week (school break). Yikes!

I had leftovers for lunch: chicken satay with peanut sauce, sweet potato fries. I had the last of the greens from the CSA box with oil and vinegar to go with. Very yummy meal at very low effort (reheated stuff in the countertop oven).

I’ll be feeding A.’s leftover burger and fries from yesterday to her for lunch, probably. There’s a lot of good stuff left, tho: steak tips, celery and carrots, hummus, brussel sprouts. I’m less sure what will happen with the fig and prosciutto flatbread or the veggie pesto as they have milk products (so no for me) and garlic / onion (no for R.). They are probably not going to be to T.’s liking, but I’ll check with him before they get tossed. There are also a couple hard boiled eggs, some goat cheese, and A. never got around to eating half of yesterday’s cheese sandwich so she can have that as a grilled cheese at some point. We might not need to cook anything new for the rest of the weekend, honestly.

Also, my non-gmail email account has been at 80% of quota again, and I haven’t gotten it down substantially in a while, so I decided to do the low-hanging fruit thing: I started deleting sent mail copies. This is a tricky activity, because it reminds me of Past Events that required me to send people email, and while that’s _fine_ when it is just me making arrangement with someone, sometimes it is … much more complicated. This time, the big categories were house related issues, divorce (not mine, duh) related issues, and school-related issues. So. Many. School-related issues. I really should have pulled the plug on A. at the public high school months ago. Oh well. What’s done is done, and we’re all so much calmer and happier now.

Oh, and I’ve got it down to 60% of quota, so that’s nice. This is also an artifact of I-have-to-file-for-an-extension-by-Monday, so I’m getting the benefit of procrastination as well.
