walkitout: (Default)
I walked with M.

I walked by myself, 2 1 mile loops while doing a makeup phone call with K. Delightful!!!

A. had a panic before the playdate. We had a chat about it. Part of this is she tends to delay taking care of basic needs (get a drink of water, snack, use the facilities) and then something scheduled pops up and all those needs suddenly becoming shrieking red alerts. So helping her remember to do those things earlier in the process is probably important. Also, transitions are hard, and especially hard with autism. And she was sooooo tired from school, that it was hard for her to sustain a big emotional meltdown before, but now she is rested, so we are finally seeing and dealing with stuff that she never learned to regulate. She was just exhausted which muted things. I think I now understand workaholism _way_ better than I ever did before.

The leftovers are mostly gone. The veggie pesto pasta is still around, but I don’t think anyone is going to eat that. R. had the fig and prosciutto pizza, and I wiped out the carrots and celery from 110 Grill. I’m back to eating the chicken that R. pre-cooked for the visit. I got a CSA onion from the basement and made chicken caccciatore with some celery that A. had not cared for, CSA mushrooms, the last of a can of tomato paste, some of the chicken stock R. made, and part of a split of red wine from the adventure box. Yummy. I had some CSA pasta with it. I think there are still a couple hard boiled eggs left, and a package of salami. Some hummus, and some bagged chips and pretzels and cheetos puffs.

A. did have her portal playdate.

We did family zoom, which was nice.

I also went upstairs to work on taxes before the playdate (possibly why the panic attack was so bad, because I just wasn’t around to help out with it) and imported stuff from the two accounts, pointlessly entered property and excise tax info (I caught myself before I dug through the DVC paperwork at least), and charitable donations. I went onto the IRS website and made an extension payment, and I figured out what I need to do before the Wednesday Mass DoR deadline. It’s kind of nice that I now have a good handle on how to do all of this without having to put anything into snail mail; we had still been filing a paper 4868 some years.

I also had a great zoom with I., and learned a lot about the transition to e-textbooks, and how some of them integrate with some LMSs.
