Friday: a lot of driving
Apr. 12th, 2024 11:00 pmI got up and had breakfast, and made blondies. Then I started the process of getting A. going, making her breakfast, and then packing up her lunch, having her eat and brush her teeth, etc. M. came over for a visit. It was raining, so we did not walk.
I drove A. to Fusion, and then I returned home. J. and the kids came by, having checked out of the hotel, and so we acquired miscellaneous food items. We hung out for a bit, and I went for a walk around the one mile look with N., because it was not raining.
We all drove to Burlington to pick up A., and we were planning on having late lunch / early dinner at Seasons 52 before taking J. and the kids to the airport. However, the 2 hour delay became a four hour delay, so we drove to Littleton instead and had late lunch / early dinner at Tavern on the Square. R. met us there. Then R. took A. home, and I drove J. and the kids to the airport.
And then I drove home.
It was kind of a lot of driving!
I did FF. Priestess was up late and dozed off in a work meeting, so she did not attend. J. slept right through the whole thing. It was apparently that kind of a day, which is fine.
Pretty good day! I’m not really worried about anything, even tho I really do need to file the extension, so I’ll be spending some time this weekend on TurboTax so I can get a rough sense of whether I should send some money in with it or not.
I got around to looking at other withdrawal forms. The ABRHS one is actually weird, in that it is student-driven. Other forms I’m finding online definitely seem to be intended for the parent/guardian to fill out. Some forms are actually _in_ PowerSchool, which is much more reasonable anyway. And some of the forms have an explicit way for the withdrawal process to be done by staff, with supporting documentation. Apparently my school district has a bad system, but it’s not necessarily _normal_ to have bad process in this particular area.
