T.’s regular instructors were out of town, but he had a class anyway. The junior instructors are grown up now! Very exciting.

Piano lesson was in person.

I walked with M.

T. and I caught a train to North Station. We had an early dinner at Tavern on the Square. We checked into the Marriott Courtyard, which very unfortunately smells like dog. For over $700, you would think a room would not smell like dog. Bleah.

We rested for a bit, and then went over to go see the Sza concert. Opener is D4vd, and it was fine. The show itself was really theatrical and carefully crafted. The lighthouse and lifeboat thing was particularly awesome. There were a couple young women directly to my left who screeched (I use that term because that is the right one) the lyrics through an unfortunately large fraction of the songs. I have zero problem with singing along, even pretty loud, but flat and screechy is apparently my limit. I _almost_ said something, but young people who clearly care about the artist probably just get to be awful and middle-aged me who only knows a handful of the songs probably just gets to deal. Just another step on the path to hermithood. Hermitdom? I don’t know. It’s fine. My hermitage is gonna be awesome.

The room still smelled unfortunately of dog, but oh well. It’s otherwise a really nice room, and the view of the Zakim bridge.
