Sunday: track, playdate, family zoom

I reread _Scout’s Progress_. I had been reminded of Liaden because an earlier Liaden book includes a Hero Shopping for Stuff for Heroine and She Is Mortified sequence, and recently learned that _Jane Eyre_ may well be the origin point for this trope. _Scout’s Progress_ has really stuck with me over the years, but I’ve never reread it, so I thought, let’s have another look at that, then. I had a lot of trouble remembering the name of the series, or the authors, or tracking it down in my kindle library, so I ultimately figured it out by looking at the wikipedia page for Baen books and just reading the series published by them until I saw Liaden and went, that’s the one!

The tree is a really interesting character. Now that I’m thinking about it, I kinda want to figure out which one was the prequel / had the full story on Jela, Cantra and the tree.

Anyway.

R. took T. to track.

A. had her Portal playdate.

There was family zoom. I deployed the Godmother wand from this year’s halloween costume for Permission Fairy work; MIL is troubled by her feelings about how to spend T-day / T-weekend, and I bippity boppity booped her to let he do whatever the hell she feels like doing, and to change her mind as many times as she needs to to figure it out. Moments like this give me hope that maybe the family is collectively getting a little more insight into and respect for their own feelings.

T. and I had dinner at Benjarong.

Oh, and NVUB Basketball is On this year!!! I’ve returned the application for T. and we are all very excited!
