Sunday: school returns tomorrow
Feb. 21st, 2021 01:19 pmI got A. to do her missing school work (there were three items, she did one per day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday — one was just hitting turn in, the other two involved a small amount of effort), so that’s something.
I did a walk with M. I did a second mile by myself.
I really enjoyed extra sleep yesterday. I still have a headache (not a surprise — it is very bright out and reflecting off the snow, and also this is likely just hormonal anyway), so it is tempting to just nap some more.
I pulled the stack of saved takeout containers out of the plasticware drawer and after having a somewhat one-sided conversation with R. about them, put them in the recycling. It’s been extremely enjoyable having more space in the drawers and more space on the counter now that the waste is out the door and we can use the storage space for the stuff we actually intend to keep.
I may do a bit more decluttering of the, oh, might as well just chuck that anyway variety.
ETA: I did a couple more one mile loops. I had good conversations with R. and my sister. I have been thinking more about things that we are storing that we should just throw away. I got several batches out in Thursday’s garbage / recycling pickup, but there is more — we have used paper bags and packing material saved for reuse in at least three different places (garage, basement, by the door to the basement, in the pantry — guess that’s four!). We have reduce that by clearing out the pantry stash (mostly threw it away, because it was plastic bags and there is currently no obvious way to recycle those and we don’t know when there will be, but we recycled quite a few used paper bags as well), and moving the more consistently useful batch by the door to the basement into the pantry. We also did a little vacuuming and rearranging. I brought the lunch containers down to the basement to where we keep the coolers, as no one is leaving the house with lunch and probably won’t be until fall at the earliest.
Unfortunately we forgot A.’s 2 pm zoom with friends, but I did get her lined up for her 4 pm zoom, and am attempting to get a replacement Wednesday afternoon zoom for the one she missed.
