Happy Tuesday! Day of Cancel
Dec. 22nd, 2020 12:41 pmThe high school has gone full remote again, because they had like 150 people quarantining (getting close to 10% of the school population). By my count, when they made the decision, they had at least 7 people over the previous week test positive — but I am not awesome about keeping a rolling count so I have no idea if that was accurate much less where it stands now. More announcements keep rolling out. Wednesday would have been remote anyway, and Thursday is the first day of winter break.
I finally canceled my hair appointment on the 29th. I was a little skeptical that I would be going to it when I made that appointment, and things have continued to get worse. The salon I go to has awesome ventilation (otherwise it would nearly kill me to go there every single time, because I have horrible reactions to everything anyway), and everyone is really good about keeping their masks on and the stations are super well thought out and spaced, but I just can’t. It is not even fun any more. They were very kind, and I reschedule to February. Hopefully, the effects of T-weekend and the winter holidays will have calmed down a bit by then. Or something.
I also canceled the cabins I had reserved at Hershey in June. When I was able to register for T.’s sleepaway camp, the only 2 week slot overlapped with the stay at Hershey. I was going to reschedule, but then my not BIL was not super enthused about the cabins so it looks like if we go, we’ll be staying at the Suites instead. I am going to wait until after the locations for A.’s summer camp are announced and decide what to schedule for that before committing to anything else. I still have a Disney trip on the calendar (sus, but we’ll see how it goes, and when we can get a vaccination — it would be a combo with seeing at least one of the kids’ grandparents, possibly more relatives depending on vaccination and other health situations) and a Cape Cod week (that, at least, I hope will really happen), so I am not staring at a year of nothing (the reschedule cruise still does not feel real, but I guess it could happen in vaccination goes super well).
ETA: Wow, I put Monday on the subject line. Ooops! It’s Tuesday!
I signed T. up for January swim lessons (apparently, I am not afraid of everything, just some things? Or maybe I figure that the hair appointment goes on a lot longer than the swim lesson. *shrug* I am not claiming to be rational here at all.
I walked with M., and we had an indoor visit.
ETAYA: I did all that before (and before I knew about) the Baker rollback. Unclear if the rollback would have impacted the hair appointment — the Hershey stay obviously totally unrelated.
