Happy Solstice! Presents Day
Dec. 21st, 2020 11:00 pmHappy Solstice!
It was a normal day of school, because of course everyone else celebrates Late Solstice (AKA Christmas). We, however, celebrate Astronomically Correct Solstice (mostly). T. went with the sitter, but both kids wanted to open presents so I said they could each do one and then we would do the rest when T. got home.
It warmed up enough for an outdoor walk with M. We also had an indoor visit. I made blondies in the morning, so we had some of that.
I also did the 1 mile loop twice by myself.
A. and I are up to 3 minute jogs around the house several times a day. 3 minutes is still a little bit of a stretch for us, so we will likely be at this level for a while.
When we opened presents, I had the kids take turns and pause with each present so I could get a quick picture and send a thank you text with the picture to the person who sent it. I am terrible with thank you notes, but I think I will do this going forward. It was fun to do, and people seemed to like it. If everyone starts doing this on Late Solstice, I could imagine it getting kinda bonkers, but just us on Astronomically Correct Solstice is novel and fun.
I did some shopping on Kohl’s (clothes for me, for post-holidays).
