Monday: zoom piano lesson
Aug. 3rd, 2020 11:49 pmToday’s piano lesson was via zoom, the better to prepare for our trip to Vermont.
I walked with M.
T. ordered lunch delivered from Benjarong.
A. did a bunch of chemistry related Brainpop. I got out some baking soda and vinegar and lemon juice after she did the pH and acids and bases Brainpops. She was like, wait, is this how baking soda volcanos work? Why did not one tell me? Good times!
I opened up the card table that is a nightstand in its smaller configuration. A. and I played some Uno Attack there in the evening; it felt like we were in a special new place, even tho it is still in our house.
I went for a 3 mile walk by myself. ETA: and talked to my sister about /r/teachers
I impulse purchased a Roland FP-60 for my husband. Cue jokes based on the pun of that brand and his name. We can do dueling pianos once it arrives! Or not. Anyway. I wanted a way to continue piano lessons via zoom while traveling, and this looks like it should work really well.
ETA: I ran roomba, and vacuumed the stairs.
ETAYA: I also had a half hour convo with J&J about some weird financial advice they got. I suggested they go back to the advisor and reframe their situation a little differently and then listen to what the modified advice was. I think the advisor looked at his age and employment and gave advice based on that, when the advice should have been based on her age and employment — financial advisors do not think super well outside of a very tiny, very traditional box.
