Happy Valentine’s Day: flowers, barstools
Feb. 14th, 2020 11:00 pmA. had a great day at school today. Apparently last week was some sort of horrifying fluke, not a new normal.
The new bar stools arrived from Circle Furniture! Apparently we have a new pattern of getting furniture that is supposed to arrive after an upcoming trip that instead arrives the day before we leave on the trip. This should not be viewed as a complaint. It just is a Thing that has now happened twice.
R. hated the old ones from the second they showed up and he did not stop hating them for the decade we owned them. That is commitment! Anyway. I loved them, because they were sturdy and padded and very comfortable. The new ones do not swivel and are wood not metal, which were the major sticking points with the old ones. We really needed to replace the old ones, because one of the cushions had gotten dinged up pretty bad, and it hardly seemed worth it to have them reupholstered, given the malevolence which R. felt towards them.
The new ones are marginally less comfortable than the old ones, which means they are still really, really comfy. They also look a lot nicer.
R. bought flowers.
We depart tomorrow. I am very excited!
