Monday: snow day!
Dec. 2nd, 2019 04:15 pmToday was a snow day. R. cleared the driveway and path; I did not touch a shovel at all.
Despite the snow day, my MIL was able to be picked up and taken to the airport for her flight, which was not delayed or canceled, because in Boston proper, it was well over freezing. Yay! She had been away from home for a week and was really missing all of her familiar things.
T. and I worked on laundry: sheets and towels from MILs visit, a comforter, and a mixed load of ordinary laundry (and a lot of dish towels. A lot of dish towels. Apparently we have been eating at home lately).
T. had leftover turkey for lunch. That was the end of the turkey.
I had leftover chicken and some other leftovers. There is very little left in the fridge; I expect it to all be gone by the end of day tomorrow.
I did clerical stuff: I removed one night from a reservation to better match the flights we ultimately got. I wound up with a better rate on the room, so that was a nice bonus. I removed one room from a reservation, since MIL will not be joining us on that trip. I made a dinner reservation that I was unable to do online; Coastal Flats is tricky for larger groups, which I had forgotten.
I ran roomba. Wow did that need to happen. Amazingly, only one lego piece picked up by it. We have been policing the floor pretty carefully.
The sitter came by around 1:30 to pick up T. They are going to see Frozen 2.
M. came by for a visit, but it is still so unpleasant out that we did not walk; we just stayed in. Still, because we did that at 2, MIL and T. had already left, so it was really quiet in here.
Pressing backgrounds tasks having been reduced to a manageable level, I am thinking it is time to address holiday cards. However, I may give in to the temptation to declutter instead. There is already a whole bunch of stuff in the basement waiting to go to the thrift as soon as we have time to make a run over there. I could add to it!
