Transition Day
Feb. 21st, 2019 11:00 pmThe morning was a leisurely packing up, eat breakfast.
Today was transition day.
Later, when we were having dinner at Jake’s, we got a phone call from lost and found, but someone had erred and the lost stuff was from some other room.
There was some traffic on the way to Universal, but not too bad. We finally got an explanation on the keys needing to be swapped and did not have to swap them this trip. They were, however, NOT correctly set up for charging, but oh well. R. drove straight to the parking garage without stopping at bell services, which initially seemed brilliant. We checked just the red backpack with refrigerated items. Everything else stayed in the van. However, he kept the key, so I couldn’t get at it. And T. flipped out.
We picked up our passes, checked in, and A. and I rode the boat over after I gave T. $40 and told him to go have fun. He wasn’t having it. He and R. walked over to the park and after a couple rides he settled down. Eventually, R. went back to the hotel, snagged a cart, and tried to transfer the luggage himself. Bell services caught him, and insisted on taking over. *shrug* Clearly, not as brilliant as I had thought. We should have done as the man at the front desk suggested and brought them back later with the van to the drop off and had bell services do the transfer.
Dinner at Jakes was interesting. They can’t do a plain chicken breast. I had a green salad and R.’s cole slaw from the fish and chips. I ate a few fries, and had a ginger smash (good) and a boulevardier (excellent). A. had the cheeseburger and apple slices and ignored her fries.
While in the park, we did Spider-Man twice, got new cards for my old photo pass, because it turns out it expires in April. Ooops. Should have kept the old cards — I had them at home. I thought it ran out in November with the passes. We bought some souvenirs — a fluffy unicorn lanyard, finger puppets of Spider-Man and someone else. We had lunch at Confisco Grill and Jenn Jenn was awesome. They _CAN_ do a plain chicken breast. A. had that with grapes. I had the portobello mushroom wrap.
We got dippin dots and I gave A. a lactaid pill with it.
After SpiderMan, we did Kong, then A. wanted to do Minions, so we rode the train over. Then we went to dinner and we made it with a few minutes to spare. R. was a little later. The kids told the server our allergies accurately. Eerily accurately, actually.
I forgot to give A. a lactaid pill with her cheeseburger.
Because dinner was at 4:30 and the park closed at 6:30 or 7 for a special event, we were in and down at a reasonable hour.
