I did a bunch of cleaning, partly because I felt like it needed to be done. But I realized as I was doing it that I was also making sure the floors were okay for three kids to be sitting on while playing, because A. had a play date with friends from her previous school. It went great. I really like the mom, and it was fantastic to talk to her. I knew I missed her — I had not realized quite how much I missed her.
I had a walk with M. It was icy across Tuttle, so at my suggestion, we just walked down Prospect to the intersection and then back. That was in the sun, so it was bare and dry. I feel a little bad about being so paranoid, but I keep hearing stories and reading news about people slipping and falling — one young woman died at UW near the fountain, so tragic — that I also feel justified. A little caution isn’t a big hardship for me.
A.’s current school had a parent forum. A. really wanted to go for the movie for the kids. It turned out they also had crafts and games, so she played games instead, but then when it was over she was sad she missed the movie. But we _have_ the movie, so she started watching it last night. Big social day for her!
I finally downloaded the PhotoPass pictures from our trip in November. They’ve completely changed their PhotoPass system. (And, inevitably, are using AWS for storage. Ha!) It’s much easier to use now. I printed out a Merida photo and put it in the Princess autograph book; that was the last one A. needed. Super exciting in a weirdly I Have a Daughter sort of way.
I still have a lot of minor photo projects to do around the house, but I am hoping that I can get around to putting the holiday cards on the mantle away next. I’ve been avoiding it.
