Friday: almost the end of school

walkitoutA.’s school is having a “beach day” at school, with outdoor games and snacks. Monday is not a school day (recognizing Juneteenth, which is on Sunday). Tuesday is a half day. Nearly done!

Totally unrelated: the phrase “counterparty risk” has been circling around in my head for a couple of days. I meant to blog about it yesterday. And wow, that phrase is now _everywhere_ in news about crypto collapse. I wasn’t thinking in those terms, so maybe this is one of those things where you think about it, and then you see it everywhere. Or maybe the other way around! Who knows.
_I_ had been thinking about counterparty risk in terms of property insurance and this year’s storm season. I still don’t know what I want to say about it, other than at the end of the long chain of trust that can fail, I do retain faith in my country.
