Returning Home
Jul. 3rd, 2018 11:00 pmOur return itinerary was from Jackson to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Boston. We checked more bags (I don’t worry about losing luggage on the way home from a trip the way I do on the way out). I had _not_ had a chance to double check the special meal requests, so of course they had lost my non-dairy request and the kids meal requests. Bleah. They were very nice about finding us other options on the plane. I had a Luvo wrap, which wasn’t bad and I think was even dairy free (miso ginger chicken), on the first leg, and I risked the chicken nicoise on the second leg and just didn’t eat any of the chicken. I also had a veggie burrito minus the corn tortilla because they said the corn tortilla had dairy in it at Jedidiah’s at Jackson Hole airport. Really?!? They did give me tortilla chips with it. Whatever.
I lost a few pounds on this trip. The elevation killed my appetite and seemed to slow my digestion to a crawl and I was so uncomfortable after eating that I just started eating a lot less to compensate. I’m going to see if I can continue that. I don’t think it would hurt my to eat a whole lot less meat and more lentil soups, which is more or less how the trip went.
We got home at around midnight (long day — started at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time). It was still 80 degrees and very muggy.
