OMG an actual schedule with no cancelations! T. had track, then we had lunch at Papa Razzi. We stopped at home briefly. Then off to the horse and his riding partner was there so M. and I had a nice convo. After that, straight to Ayer for NVUB baseball. No cancelations! Amazing!
I hung out in the car during track and baseball and read _Living Downtown_, which I got from the library. I wish it were in e-book form. Oh well! The pictures are better this way anyway. Really great book, altho I have this bizarre feeling I may have read it before. I don’t actually think I did — more likely read something that cited similar sources or cited this book. It’s fantastic — subtitled _The History of Residential Hotels isn’t he United States_.
We had the Cuban Beef Bowl from the Plated Box. I’ve been consistently stocking and substituting fennel bulbs for onion. Today, I subbed fennel stalks for scallions, and ginger for garlic, in the salsa part. I made two versions, one with the avocado and scallions for me, one with the fennel, pineapple, ginger for him. Both were really good. I also added chopped tomatoes to his version of the dish.
As much fun as Plated has been, I’m going to start skipping after the next box, and skipping Sun Basket after 2 more boxes (couldn’t bring myself to skip sooner than that on Sun Basket). We’re going to try PlateJoy for a while and see what we think of that.
