Both kids went to the horse today. It was windy but sunny. I walked with M. T. and I went to 110 Grill, then we went to the horse. I got to chat with M. (other M.).
While T. and I were out, M. (third M of the day!) came over and helped R. (husband) move the sideboard from the basement up to the dining room. Epic! The leak some years ago in the basement did some damage. We'll definitely need to replace the velvet lining in the glass case on top, and we'll try some tung oil on the affected wood then maybe call someone out to assess and make recommendations if we feel like more is required. It would be nice to have someone very carefully remove and replace the rope that holds the curved glass in place. But I don't want anything bad to happen, so this is very difficult to mess with.
Meanwhile, T.'s desk went downstairs and into the van for a trip tomorrow to the friend's house that will be its new home.
We received the Plated box right around noon. R. and I cooked dinner together (430-5 time frame) and the kids totally left us alone. Alas, we forgot R. had a family conference call. Ooops! It was on the calendar and everything; don't know how I missed that. He got an update via text / email. Dinner was salmon, green beans and ferro, and I added a couple Brussel sprouts.
Oh, and I made a Boulevardier. It went down so fast I didn't even take a picture, but that's okay because my Boulevardier's are so good there will be many more to come. A boulevardier is a Negroni made with rye instead of gin. I'm still mixing with the Brothership Irish-American whisky. Does that make it a Dubloni? I'll try it with a rye when the Brothership is gone. Antica and Campari for the other elements of the drink. I made a 1:1:1.
