A. did not have school, but T. did so we had to figure out his transportation. R. dropped him off entirely too early, and I got a message saying don’t do that again. Makes sense. The IEP makes his program responsible for bullying and so forth, and they can’t do that if they aren’t there. There _was_ someone there, actually, but R. let him go in under his own power so he had no way of knowing that and if there had not been someone there, it really is a prime time of day for things to get weird.
The sitter picked him up and took him to swimming and gymnastics. A strikingly ordinary day, in that respect!
ETA: I missed mentioning half the day! The sitter took both kids to see Wrinkle in Time at O’Neil Cinemas and they had dinner there, too. Meanwhile, we had a one day belated date night at Great Road Kitchen. We had oysters (yay!) and I had the Udon Noodles, which I got last time I was there. They do not have Benedictine in the bar. When I ordered a Boulevardier (they had a Negroni on the menu, so it seemed fair game), they made it, but they charged me the Negroni price ($12) and then an additional dollar for the rye. Really? Stay classy, GRK. That is now twice that I’ve been to GRK and had basically good food and basically good beverage and sort of good service, but left feeling like I really don’t ever want to go there again; I’d rather go to Tavern on the Square and have definitely lower level of food / drink, but a much less irritating experience overall. I’m assuming there is something about that dining room that is setting me off and I just can’t figure out what it is.
For anyone keeping track, the best bar we’ve found locally is still Less Than Greater Than, with 80 Thoreau’s bar a somewhat distant 2nd and everyone else really kind of sad by comparison. Altho we still have a couple that we’ve eaten in the dining room but we haven’t really tried sitting in the bar and ordering classics and seeing how they turn out. 29 Sudbury is probably next up on the list. We may also eventually sit at the bar at Woods Hill Table, too.
