T. went to martial arts. He fell going down the stairs on the way out and limped a bit, which is worrisome. We went home. After lunch (at home), R. took him to basketball. That went okay. Later, they went skiing at Nashoba. They were supposed to meet a friend of T.’s but they went early and by the time it was time to meet the friend, T. was complaining his ear hurt too much (he has a head cold and ear ache). Busy day for him. We canceled track for tomorrow and may cancel the horse; we’ll see how he feels.
I bought the books recommended last night, and was disappointed that the Vanderbilt in one of the books was not the Vanderbilt they make at Less Than Greater Than. So I dug around online and found something that looked right and made it (2:1 cognac:Heering, angostura bitters, some sugar). It was delightful. In addition to the three recommended books (one of which does indeed have the Brooklyn I enjoyed, and one has the Oaxaca Old Fashioned), I bought a copy of the Drunken Botanist.
But I _read_ _Go Home Oaxaca, You’re Drunk_. It’s short. My sister picked it up on kindle a while back and enjoyed it. I really liked reading it, too. It’s travel notes from someone who spent about a month there around Holy Week. Not as much about mezcal in it as I might have hoped given that title, but there was a little.
ETA: Book number 7
