The horse was canceled because of snow. R. ran the snowblower around the driveway and front walk. T. and R. both shoveled snow as well. It looks very nice now. The roads are completely clear. They went out to pick up the cross country ski gear which they ordered the day before.
I made corned beef hash. I had bought corned beef a while back and then gone on vacation and put the unopened deli package (Niman) in the freezer. I'd been meaning to make corned beef hash for a while and now I finally did. It was yum.
I also made whole wheat cinnamon raisin rolls. I probably didn't put enough sugar or fat in, but that's okay, it's fixable with a little drizzled maple syrup and margarine or butter. Also, yum.
The La Marchesa candied walnuts that I just bought at Roche Bros yesterday are rancid. Not at all yum. Actually, bummer. I may go to the bother of returning them; they are sitting in the trunk of my car right now. I was very disappointed. However, I put bacon on my salad at lunch instead, which was yum.
T. has been wanting us to try to make some ketchup that is more like the ketchup that McDonald's serves in the Netherlands than Heinz ketchup. We tried twice. We totally failed, but what we produced was probably perfectly serviceable for us so into the fridge it went.
ETA: We stripped and made beds. I vacuumed the stair from the ground floor to the second floor. I did Still More holiday shopping. R. put batteries in the sorceror's hat tree ornament and the mickey and minnie snow globe. I think the last bit of decorating I'm committed to is to get A. to the mall for a Santa photo. I may be lazy and just print out one of the ones from Santa's Village and stick that in the two-sided snow globe with T.'s santa photo.
