walkitoutI was pretty happy when this showed up! But it still took me a few days to get around to starting it and a surprising amount of time to finish it. None of this should be laid at the feet of the author — it’s just that life and the news have been surprisingly bonkers. Obviously, last Wednesday happened, but also there has been some drama around Florida BIL.
Anyway.
There are some Jones / Vortex themes / references here, so it is occurring in that universe. It is contemporary paranormal, developing other components of the paranormal world. Fogg Lake is where Some Government Agency was conducting Research, there was an accident, locals were permanently affected, and this series is about people with a connection to the affected locals and the government labs and the paranormal and so forth. The usual locations: in the Cascades, in Seattle, in Las Vegas. There’s a mansion in the desert, and there’s a chase scene on a twisty mountain road. Good times.
If you’ve never read a JAK, probably don’t start here? It seems like it would be pretty confusing! But if you are a long time reader, it is always a fun ride.
