Wednesday: picking up devices, date night

walkitoutI spent an hour talking to B. in her capacity as a human, rather than as a sitter. The pandemic has made it super tough for people who have irresolvable conflicts in and around their home environment. Normally, we all cope with that kind of shit by going somewhere else during the day / on vacation — and those options are pretty limited right now. I really feel for everyone in that situation. I will also note that thinking about these situations in “reasonable person” terms is always pointless. Totally pointless. But it can be really hard to get to that realization, which is necessary in order to take effective action. Oh well!
I picked up A.’s stuff. R. picked up T.’s stuff.
The kids went with B. to Paparazzi. R. and I went to Rapscallion Concord. They have done a remarkable job setting up a patio in their parking lot — their situation is not ideal but they have made it work way better than I would have expected. I love how creative and persistent so many people are being.
A. had a very brief meet and greet with her teacher.
I walked with M.
I took a long walk by myself.
A. and R. went for a tandem bike ride.
I took A. out on my Townie, and then we watched a video about adults learning how to ride a bike. We need to spend more time on the scooting along phase before proceeding to pedals.
