Thursday: cake! Serenades!
May. 28th, 2020 11:00 pmSome people called me today to sing to me. It was delightful! I also made cake. Also delightful! FB served up to me the day before what happened the year before, so I had a Little Chat with R. and A. (the primary offenders last year, for completely demoralizing me while I made my own cake) about What Would Make Me Feel Better This Year. They were subdued and supportive. A. did help make the cake, and while she put a loooooootttt of vanilla in the frosting (“I was just doing what you do!” Sweetie, I do not put that much vanilla in. It just looks like I put that much in.), it turned out really tasty. She said it was strong. Well, yeah. Yeah it was.
I finished reading _They Promised Me the Gun Wasn’t Loaded_, the second book about Too Many Cooks / The 99% / the Waterloo Squad, whatever, by James Alan Gardner. This one is written from Jools’ perspective. It was a romp! Altho there was a point in Sherwood Forest where I kept thinking, but what about that whole other story we were in the middle of? But it all connected back up in the end in a very satisfying way. I hope he writes / publishes more in this series. I love it so much!
