Who Decides Which Day to Announce Things?
May. 27th, 2020 08:54 pmAnd how?
I wish I knew. I really wish I knew.
Today, Disney announced dates when various things would open. I am taking this pretty personally, because last fall, I booked a Hilton Head trip at the 7 month window and, well, you do the math. I was hoping for cancelation, and got Murphied. Now what?
Meanwhile, the LBI trip in August that I thought was a sure thing and signed a one week lease with basically no wiggling out ... well, the family component canceled on Monday, which was the main attraction of the trip. I mean, LBI will be open, drivable, and a good time even if we spend the entire time in the house or on its deck or riding bikes or whatever we are allowed to do. But still.
Also today: T.’s sleepaway canceled summer camp for the first time in its 92 years.
We had a lot planned for the summer. In addition to the above, there was a driving trip to Quebec in August that we are sadly looking at and going, we are not feeling like waiting to find out for sure it is not going to happen. We are going to put that off for another year. We were not meeting anyone, but still. I was excited about it.
In slightly happier news, Mountain Top Inn in Vermont emailed me with a Deal. So. There is that.
I walked with M.
I walked by myself.
I had an hour and a half convo with J., that was delightful.
