Transition day was reaaallllly complicated this year.

Obviously, we had to pack everything up and switch to Universal Orlando. That is normal. There was a minor hiccup here; Priestess left some things behind in her room, however, she handled it beautifully and filed a lost and found report with housekeeping and nothing was urgent enough to require a return to OKW. Whew. She is an amazingly good travel companion.

My sister’s family (other than my sister) all went to do the swim with the dolphin experience at Epcot. That seems to have gone well.

Everyone else went in the van with us to Royal Pacific. We once again left things in the van (NEVER DO THIS AGAIN. ALWAYS CHECK THE ENTIRE CONTENTS OF THE VAN WITH BELL SERVICES. LEAVING IT IN THE VAN TAKES FOREVER TO GET IT BACK FROM R.). We also sent some of the luggage in my sister’s rental car to ensure enough passenger space in the van. It all worked out.

I got us checked in to all the rooms. Priestess did not want to do rides, so she stayed at the hotel in the lobby or concierge lounge or whatever until her room opened up a few hours later. MIL arrived and when she got in her room was already ready and she was able to get in immediately. I got the passes I had ordered for my sister’s family from the vacation desk and she took those and the keys (express) and went in to hang out and wait for her family. R. and I took A. into Islands of Adventure and had lunch at Confisco Grill. Always awesome. Joy is a fantastic server and Jeremy made sure the food was safe for us.

We did Spiderman, Kong, Forbidden whatever and the family coaster. Then it was time to return to the hotel to meet R.’s uncle and girlfriend. We ultimately set up a reservation at Jake’s for 6 of us (T. was still in the park; MIL joined us as uncle is her brother). I had told everyone else they could do what they liked for dinner and charge it to the room.

As transition days go, this was a real winner. It went well.
