walkitoutAfter day camp was over, A., M., M.’s two kids (who are at day camp with A.) and I all went to West Side Creamery. Their vegan vanilla tastes a little like play dough smells, which is something I have encountered before and am not sure what happens to cause that but it is not desirable. Their vegan chocolate, by contrast, is awesome. Their dairy ice cream is apparently also quite good.
We walked over to The Silver Unicorn afterwards.
T. was with the sitter today. I picked up the Watch replacement; we will need to set that up probably tonight.
I spent some time poking around at booking a ferry crossing for later in the summer. The P&O website persistently gave me errors, so I wound up booking it at Direct Ferries. Not sure what to think of all this; I guess I will include how it turned out in the trip report when we actually go on that trip.
ETA: I had to turn Bloomberg off today. David Rubinstein was on a panel, and while he is a little uneven in general, when is he not appalling he can be entertaining and, occasionally, insightful. But on this particular panel, he was saying things like, We Used to Call It Pork Barrel. Now We Call it Infrastructure.
For real.
I am seriously wondering if he meant it when he said there was demand for a private equity candidate. I mean, I _thought_ he was kidding, but if you think that infrastructure automatically equals pork barrel, I really have to start to wonder about everything.
Also, he was on that whole Capitalism Is Unpopular thing, which is such a pile of stinking shit it is amazing. Seriously. Capitalism does not suffer from unpopularity.
