My houseguest and I went to Salem. We parked at Museum Place. We visited the Visitor’s Center and she bought a post card, which we then took to the post office and got the special franking. Very cool!
We tried to visit the Friendship. It is Not There.
We visited Waite and Pierce visitor’s center. We looked at the Witch Trial memorial. Very sad! We walked around the old burying ground. We stepped into numerous witchy shoppes.
We had pizza (shared a 12 inch with Follow Your Heart vegan mozzarella) she had a Downeast Pumpkin Cider (which is awesome) and I had part of and took the rest home of a slice of vegan carrot cake (from Cafe Indigo in Concord, NH, apparently). It was all fantastic. Jake at the bar was a sweetheart and very attentive. The price was super reasonable. The decor was utterly charming (wall of Doctors! With Jodie!) (also arty Tasha Yar!). If you are looking for a nerd-vana, vegan friendly, good beer on tap place for lunch anywhere even remotely near Salem, go to Flying Saucer Pizza! I’m going back as soon as possible.
