I had a nice walk with M. R. and I went to dinner at Woods Hill Table and ate at the bar, where we had a nice on and off conversation with J&J seated next to us. We ordered the ribeye and we really need to do that more often; it was amazing. Also, the salmon. We had tried ordering a variety of other things, and didn’t succeed, but we managed to get both of those in a version we could share, so that was cool.

I had a really nice phone call with J. (2 hours! different from the aforementioned people at the bar). I also had a really nice phone call with K. I scheduled the installation of the fan box in T.’s room and the carpet in his room — on the same day. I’m fairly confident that this will somehow go horribly wrong, even tho the former is scheduled for 3 hours prior to the latter.

The Concord Cooler at the bar involved mezcal, chartreuse, Benedictine, lemon juice, and 3 very thin slices of cucumber. It’s entirely possible I missed an ingredient. It was really good. I also had a Vieux Carre, and then an Asterisk. It’s possible some of that was a mistake, but it certainly was tasty.

I cooked the chicken mole poblano from Plated for lunch. I unilaterally decided that between the chicken stock and the mole sauce component that was prepared ahead of time contained too much allium and was too crucial to the finished dish to substitute around.
